What’s at stake

In the past 10 years, over 2,500 people have died in a truck related accident on our roads. Being a truckie is Australia’s most dangerous job. Low wages, long hours, no time for maintenance and tight timeframes from wealthy retailers like Aldi put huge pressure on trucking companies and drivers, all of which puts every road user at risk.

Truck drivers and our communities know that things have to change. That’s why, for over 20 years, drivers across Australia, through our union, the TWU, have been fighting for Safe Rates and safer roads for all Australians.

If you believe that Safe Rates save lives, join the campaign today.

We all need to stand together

Marshall is a truck driver from Queensland and he believes Safe Rates is the best way to make sure everyone gets a fair go in the trucking industry.

As a former owner drivers with over 20 years experience behind the wheel of a truck Marshall’s seen the changes in the industry and knows first hand the toll it’s taken on himself and his family.

Watch why he says it doesn’t matter what kind of driver you are – owner driver, company driver, casual driver – Safe Rates means something to everyone.
